I agree - I got sucked in by the title. The report is indeed junk, and beyond that, once you are on their mailing list they send a whole lot of emails to other so-so "resources".

For Sharon, you must try NovaMind ( http://www.novamind.com ) - for presentations, it's the best; it exports to powerpoint; it has task recording and you can use it in conjunction with Merlin or any project management program which works with the MS Project XML format (i.e. all of them). And they have what appears to be a huge update coming out which is a free upgrade when you buy now. They haven't announced pricing for the new version but if you get it now you get a v5 compatible license at v4 prices. Oh, and their support is excellent too - great company to deal with.

Yes, also appreciate the heads-up.

Would it be possible for you to suggest first steps in assessing the variety of Mindmapping software for a newbie to this form of visual language? Have read a book behind the concept, watched sample You-tube clips, and am getting ready to test the water.

Read several of your posted software reviews and several other reviews, and have a cross-platform requirement (mac, vista and linnux - I am on the mac) for presentations, exporting to Powerpoint, brainstorming (cross platform screen sharing has been tested), meeting organizing and hopefully, eventually some level of project management. This software is not inexpensive and the myriad choices are not helping us settle on one.

Will appreciate whatever tips you can toss our way!

Thanks,
Sharon

Hi Chuck,

Thanks a lot for this review. It will avoid me spending money where not necessary. Another way to become richer...

By the way, do you have any references to (e)books about day-to-day uses of mindmapping (I have started using mindmanager some days ago).

Once more, thanks a lot for your blog and all the valuable information it contains.

Regards,

Phil
