Project management ‘front end’ for MindManager

Feb 13th, 2006 | By | Category: Software

Vpmsc1 A recent topic of discussion in the Yahoo MindManager group has been a tool for MindManager called Visual Project Maps Pro. It acts like a "front end" for this popular mind mapping software program, by providing a dialog box where you can define the key parameters of your project. This "wizard" then generates a "project dashboard" with links to sub-maps for each aspect of your project. I strongly urge you to take a look at the demo of this tool, because it does a marvelous job of explaining what Visual Project Maps Pro does, and the elegance with which it does it. Once you have added content to the structure it creates for you, Visual Project Maps Pro also helps you to export your project data to Microsoft Project – very cool.

I can see how this program could be a real time-saver for project managers!

  1. Chuck,

I just wanted to take a minute to write to you that I think you are doing a great job.
Innovation information is neatly and correctly available, and the site is aesthetically pleasing as well.

I don’t know if you’re making money out of this, but in either case, I think it’s excellent work.

With me it started when I picked up a Tony Buzan book from the book store a couple of years ago. Following the leads there, I found out about all these software tools for mind mapping. I then discovered that “mapping” software has taken a life of its own, and is now used in much more than what Buzan originally had in mind. After a few weeks of research, I decided to use MindManager.

I did try the NovaMind for Windows (reader), but did not like it too much. Maybe because I’m and engineer and I like things organized, just the way MindManager does them.

Please accept my best regards for the excellent job you’re doing.

    Mazen Salhi
