Wanted: Your tips for creating high-impact mind maps

Jun 18th, 2009 | By Chuck Frey | Category: Discussion

Here’s another question for you to think about. Please share what works with your fellow readers:

What tips or techniques do you utilize to create high-impact, software-produced mind maps that get results?

Results, for the purposes of our discussion, can take any form (how do you create mind maps that make the project a success, win the order, persuade the audience, etc.) – as long as they are business focused. That’s the primary criterion for this little assignment.

Please share your thoughts and ideas in the comments area below. You people always come up with the greatest insights. I can’t wait to read what you have to say about THIS question!

  1. Boil the conent of your nodes down to keywords. Use links associatively. Parsing out those sentences used in mindmaps will illustrate more associations, and at the same time generate more consensus with mixed audiences.

  2. Although I don’t personally use Mind Map Software, recently I saw a Mind Map that had a “High Impact” factor….The Map is at the Mappio Mind Map Directory and is called “How to Start Mixing a Song” http://mappio.com/mindmap/guest/how-to-start-mixing-a-song

The creator has used a photo as a backdrop and it certainly catches the eye.
