Well, I finally did it – I bought an iPad earlier this week.
As the author of the world’s leading blog covering mind mapping software, I had to – so I can review the best apps and let you know which ones are worthy of your attention and investment. This purchase will also enable me to do a better job of reporting on what’s new and notable in this space – informed by my own experiences playing around with them, just like I do with desktop- and web-based visual mapping applications.
I’m excited by what’s ahead for you, the loyal readers of this blog and for me, the guy who gets to play around with all of this cool stuff:
- In the next week, I hope to publish a “first impressions” blog post, in which I will share my initial thoughts after playing with many of the leading apps.
- I will follow that up with detailed reviews of the best ones.
As always, I’ll provide you with a balanced, unbiased perspective, telling you not only what I like about an app, but also the areas in which I think it could be improved.
I look forward to the journey! I’ve always been a fan of utilizing mobile devices to be productive, starting with the seminal Radio Shack Model 100 “slab” with it’s 6-line black-and-white LCD screen, through a succession of Compaq iPaq PDAs over the years (complete with some very clever folding portable keyboards), an iPod Touch and iPhone to the pinnacle of mobile productivity – the iPad.
I can’t wait – let the adventure begin!
