Here’s a little experiment I’d like to try with you: What if I was to periodically produce a common type of mind map, explain how it can be used and then provide it to you in multiple formats? In other words, I’ll take the same mind map and create versions for many of the popular mind mapping software programs.
Is this useful to you? Please let me know in the comments area below!
Here’s the prototype of this proposed mind map series: A travel planner mind map, originally created in MindManager and then opened and re-saved in 8 other program formats (right click to save):
- MindManager 8 (.mmap)
- XMind (.xmind)
- MindView (.mdvx)
- NovaMind 5 (.nm5)
- Visual Mind 11 (.vmm)
- MindGenius (.xmmap)
- iMindMap (.imm)
- Freemind
I look forward to your feedback!

I'd ask for 2 changes, if possible:
- clickable link rather than a right click to save. It's more intuitive, in my opinion.
- NovaMind 4 version rather than 5. Those of us on Mac are still waiting for NM5 to arrive. So we're forced to use MM8 and have it convert.

Am I able to import a later version or do I have to upgrade?
I do look forward to your & others ideas!
Many thanks,

1) release a NovaMind v4 file for Mac users who couldn't use NovaMind v5 which is in Beta version, and not very usable...
2) release an iThoughts version for use with iOS
Best regards.
