Desktop vs. web-based mind mapping software

Arthur Vanderbilt, author of the RadiantThought blog, recently guest posted to the MindMapping 2.0 blog on the trade-offs of desktop-based mind mapping software vs. web-based applications. One of the biggest issues you need to be aware of when trying to decide whether to implement one versus the other technology is this: Do you need to link documents from your local PC to your map? If so, then you need a desktop-based mind mapping program, because this capability isn’t supported in web-based applications. On the other hand, web-based mind mapping applications offer a distinct advantage in terms of collaboration. Arthur does a nice job of outlining the trade-offs between these two technologies.
