A social media dashboard map

At work, I’m managing a new social media project that will involve Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube and Flickr. So I created a dashboard map in MindManager 8 to make it easy for me to capture the key measurables for each service. I genericized it so I could share it with you on this blog. This map incorporates:

Links to specific web pages and search tools used to track performance on each service
Links to third party tools
Links to the Excel spreadsheets that are used to capture the data from each social media site; in MindManager 8, the open in the viewing pane, which is quite convenient!

I think this map is going to be a real time-saver for me!

Hi Chuck,

Love the map...but...
.MMAP file doesn't install cleanly.
Where should I drop the extra folders?

Dan, I'm not quite sure what you mean by the extra folders. If you save the .MMAP file to your My Maps folder you should be OK. One caveat: This map was not saved as a "pack and go" file, so it does not include the Excel files that are linked in the original version. You'll need to delete those file links and create your own.

Hi Chuck,

Seems Firefox wanted to turn it into a ZIP and unpacked with folders etc...
When I forced it to save as a Map it worked fine.
Sorry for the alarm.

Hi,

Funny - I had the same problem in IE and followed Dan's advice, changing the suffix to mmap which worked fine.

Incidentally when I click on the spreadsheet links and try to open them in MM the program freezes, but they work OK when I open them outside MM.

It's been a year since you posted this. How are you finding the map worked to track progress a year later? I've been using Mindmaps to map out marketing strategies; but finding not as intuitive as I hoped for keeping track of things.

Ah great! I needed this. I am a beginner in social media marketing and I needed a map like this! As I understand it from your explanation this is a mmap file, right? So I can open it like this: https://www.mindjet.com/mmap-file/ correct?
