Mind mapping software is often touted as a great brainstorming tool. If you’re a very creative person or are using it to record ideas in a group brainstorming session, that may be true. But most of us need a catalyst – something to jump-start our thinking in fresh directions. And that’s where a tool like theRealizer, a cool brainstorming add-in for MindManager and Visual Mind, can really help. Realize AB, the developer of theRealizer, recently released version 2 of this tool, which offers the ability to configure it to meet your needs.
Version 1 of theRealizer installed a side panel into MindManager 6 that walks you through a step-by-step process for defining your challenge, generating ideas and prioritizing them. It accomplished this by providing a set of pre-defined challenge statements and an extensive set of “idea cards” that could be used at random to stimulate ideas and solutions.
Version 2 builds upon this foundation by enabling you to edit the pre-defined challenges, add your own, and save them into different sets of challenges. You can also edit, delete and add idea cards.
In addition, the four-quadrant report that theRealizer uses to help you prioritize your ideas can now be customized with different axis names, giving you much greater flexibility in creating reports about your ideas.
Finally, you can now customize the sorting and concept branches – used to classify your ideas when evaluating them.
If you can’t visualize how this works, I strongly recommend that you visit theRealizer website, where you can view a video tutorial that clearly explains how it works, and how it can catalyze your thinking.
theRealizer 2 is compatible with MindManager 7 and 8, and Visual Mind 10.
