Millions of new blogs are created worldwide every year, but many are abandoned because their authors run out of things to write about. To combat writer’s block, a number of enterprising thinkers have assembled large lists of ideas that bloggers can use as inspiration to generate topics for posts.
There’s only one problem: Without exception, they are “kitchen sink” lists – long lists of unorganized ideas – a brain dump by the author of blog post topics and types that they have used or have admired online.
So I decided to improve upon these linear lists. I gathered some of the best blog post ideas from around the web, and organized over 100 of them in a mind map format. This enabled me to categorize them in some meaningful ways, so they are more useful to me when the well runs dry and I need some inspiration. I thought this visual list would be useful to many of you, too!

Mind map: Best practices for writing an effective blog - Mind Mapping Software Blog
Alfred Reinold Baudi · 785 weeks ago
My blog has an average of 200 visits/day, but I barely update it, because I always wait to the BIG topic and coverage, but with this map I can now wait useful content without waiting until the "big idea for a new post" pops up.

Mate you are a real star putting this together. We are both fortunate that we have the tools to help us come up with ideas (as well as your Creativity Hacks e book which I highly recommend) but even so this is a huge boost to generating blog ideas.
So thanks for this (and no letting on where my ideas come from when you are next at my blog LOL)
Regards

Great list and presentation form - something I and (as per above) others can actually use.
Looking at the categories I'd love to see a version of this organized using Hodges' model - http://www.p-jones.demon.co.uk/
- oh for more time!
I'm working on an extended essay that considers software solutions and the types of mind-mapping, diagram solutions available. A key question is the underlying structure - some are free-form others with an underlying conceptual framework which is my focus: http://hodges-model.blogspot.com/
Thanks again.
