A few months ago, 3 visualization experts – Wallace Tait (a familiar voice in the comments of this blog), Noël van Herrewegh and Alexis van Dam – got together to launch Hypershifters, a blog that has quickly become a must-read for anyone who is interested in visual mapping.
Here is its stated purpose: “The focus of hypershifters.com is on tooling for computer supported idea visualization or CSIV. It will cover all solutions that are available on the market, including open source and freeware packages. The added value of hypershifters.com is that it offers research, tests, advice and consultation to novices and expert users. Because the field is so new, many people have questions about which solution to use for their particular situation.”
In addition to an assortment of timely blog posts, presented in an attractive, businesslike design, Hypershifters offers product reviews (including this new one on MindManager 8), videos of visual mapping being mentioned or “evangelized” around the world, interviews with mind mapping vendors and experts, and more. The blog also connects you to a Facebook fan page, YouTube video channel, the trio’s Twitter feed and more. I have been invited to be a guest blogger on Hypershifters, but haven’t been able to free up enough time to do so yet. I admire what these guys are doing, and
If you haven’t checked out this multi-faceted visual mapping site, I recommend that you do so today!

Hypershifters is the brainchild of communication, Mind mapping and social media expert Alexis Van Dam at: http://www.alexida.nl he is closely associated with World of Minds which in turn is the brainchild of thought leader Jerre Lubberts at: http://www.worldofminds.com
Hans TerHurne at: http://www.creamatics.nl a very notable and very successful visual mapper within the EU at is an integral foundational support to both entities.
It is indeed an honour to be associated with the list of Hypershifters mentioned at: http://www.hypershifters.com/about/hypershifters-... and I have learned much from all of my colleagues at hypershifters to date.
It is also good to see my fellow Visual mapping colleague Andrew Wilcox at: http://www.cabre.co.uk being a fellow Hypershifter too.
It is my pleasure to be permitted to write and consult at Hypershifters. I see both the Hypershifters and World of Minds being more prominent and brand recognizable during 2010.

Chuck, we still welcome you as a guest blogger on Hypershifters.
For 2010 we have several interesting ideas for the hypershifters community.

The corrected names of foundation within the World of Minds group are, “… WoM is an initiative of Kees van Amersvoort, Edward van Kempen, Jerre Lubberts, Geert Schlangen, Hans Terhurne and Roland Wijnen.”
My apologies to my colleagues at WOM.
Wallace Tait.
